Mahesh Babu is an Indian film actor, who is best known for his acting in Tollywood film industry. At the age of four, he made his debut as a child artist in 'Needa'. Since then, he has received seven Nandi Awards, four Filmfare Awards, three CineMAA Awards and two South Indian International Movie Awards. He owns a film production company in the name of his father "Krishna Productions Private Ltd" in Hyderabad. In 2015, India's top 100 Forbes list Mahesh secured 36th rank, as per income he is in 13th position and for popularity his rank is 37. 

Biography

Mahesh Babu was born on 9 August 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He has completed his schooling at St. Bede's school and studies Degree in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai. He was just above average student. As he spent his early life in Chennai, he is not good at Telugu. After graduating, he met director L. Satyanand in Vishakhapatnam and took training in acting. Being unable to read and write Telugu, he used to memorise the dialogues given by his directors during the dubbing phase of his films.

Mahesh Babu's biggest 2016 release, Srikanth Addala's Brahmotsavam will not released on April 29, but will be postponed by almost two weeks. The reason behind this postponement is, during April the films like Pawan's Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Allu Arjun's Sarrainodu, Trivikram's A...Aa will be hitting the screens. Due to this Brahmotsavam is struggling to get enough screens for a release. So the director has decided to release this family drama in May.

In AR Murugadoss's next film

Superstar Mahesh Babu is all set to team up with Tamil director AR Murugadoss for his next film. It is touted to be a high budget action drama, which will be produced by NV Prasad and Tagore Madhu. According to the reports, the budget will range between Rs 85 to 90 crore. If it is to be believed this project shall become the second most expensive film, after Baahubali. This Telugu-Tamil bilingual will go on floors on April 14. The makers plan to release the film by early 2017. 

In Brahmotsavam

Brahmotsavam is an upcoming 2016 family entertainer film, which is being written and directed by Srikanth Addala. It is produced by Prasad V Potluri under the banner PVP Cinema. This is second movie for actors Mahesh Babu and Kajal Aggarwal to share the screen space. The movie also features Pranitha Subhash and Samantha in important roles. The movie has postponed its release date to May 2016.

Mahesh Babu was born to Indira Devi and Super Star Krishna, who is a yesteryears Indian film actor, director and producer. His step-mother is Vijaya Nirmala, who is also yesteryears actress. He has four siblings one elder brother Ramesh Babu, an actor and a producer in Telugu films. Mahesh has two elder sisters one is Priyadarshini and the other Manjula Swaroop known as Manjula, a film producer and actress in Telugu cinema. 

Padmavathi is his younger sister. He is half-brother of tollywood actor Naresh. Telugu actor Sudheer Babu is Mahesh's brother-in-law, who is married to Priyadarsini. Mahesh is married to actress Namrata Shirodkar.

Mahesh Babu got married to a beautiful Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar on 10 February 2005. She is a model and has crowned Miss India in 1993. She was also chosen as the first runner up for Miss Asia Pacific during 1993. During the movie Vamsi, the on-screen couple Mahesh and Namrata started seeing each other in real life. They have two children, son Gautam Krishna, and daughter Sitara.

Career

Mahesh Babu has started his acting career at a tender age of 4 years with the film "Needa". He used to spend much time on sets with his father, which attracted him towards films. He has done nine films as a child actor. In the film 'Sankharavam' he faced the cameras under his father's directon for the first time. 

In 1999, Mahesh was re-introduced as a full-fledged hero with the movie "Raja Kumarudu". He was seen in film 'Vamsi' opposite Namrata Shirodkar. For his 2001 film Murari he has bagged a Nandi Special Jury Award for his performance. His latest film is Srimanthudu and now is working on the film Brahmotsavam.
